Eagle Sequel; Card of the week 17th November, 2014

card 11.17.2014

Wow, it looks like our soaring Eagle from last week is back!   This week’s card, from my old, The Osho Zen Tarot,   is  “Possibilities.”    Like the two of wands in the regular tarot, this figure oversees a vast terrain wherein the world is his oyster – a vast field of untapped potential.  Some of the traditional keywords for the two of wands are: achievement, personal power, potential, gaining greater perspective, widening your views,    — it’s about taking that inspired energy, discovering new worlds and laying new plans.

I love the author’s description of this card:

This card indicates that you are at a point where a world of possibilities is open to you. Because you have grown more loving towards yourself, more self-contained, you can work easily with others. Because you’re relaxed and at ease, you can recognize possibilities as they present themselves, sometimes even before others can see them. Because you are in tune with your own nature, you understand that existence is providing you with exactly what you need. Enjoy the flight! And celebrate all the varied wonders of the landscape below you.”

The funny thing is that a lot of us have NOT been feeling that way.  (Last week’s Eagle guided us not to take those negative feelings seriously, reminding us that we could triumph over trouble.)   This time, Eagle expands on this theme and is an even stronger reminder we can still be in “eagle eyes” vision this week instead of just ant’s eye view (seeing just what’s in front of us, seeing a limited view of the situation).   If you haven’t exactly been feeling like a world of possibilities is in front of you, if you haven’t felt very loving towards yourself (especially if negative self-talk has been the norm lately), then you haven’t felt very self-contained. You won’t have been feeling that “relaxed and at ease” feeling where you can recognise potentials  and that  “works easily with others” stuff might have felt pretty foreign  if you’ve been approaching things with a lot of background  need.

Fear not, our fine-feathered friend is back this week to remind us that this kind of  strength and confidence is within your power to cultivate and achieve this week.  You can be more loving towards yourself, and as a consequence of that you can feel more self-contained (relying less on outcomes or people to make you happy) and have an easier time dealing with other people this week because you’re not out to get something from them.    When you’re grounded and calm you can see possibilities that you wouldn’t have otherwise seen.  Both in the sense of, “I can envision this”  and “Wow, there it is right in front of me!” accomplishment.   The “have nots” can evaporate in a puff of steam.

You don’t have to wait for things.. get your wings flapping, get off the ground and change your point of view. Don’t wait for magical energy, the right whim of the Universe, or anything else.  The, “.. you understand that existence is providing you with exactly what you need.” ingredient is no small part of the equation this week.   Once again, you have what you need to change your mind, your view, your attitude, and your actions.  If your wings have been feeling a little leaden lately, what can you do about it this week in order to change your attitude AND your altitude?

Some of us will be feeling 10 miles high, soaring on a never ending thermal – barely flapping. Everything is in perspective and you’re feeling the zing! Others of us still need to flap a little harder to get there this week, but you can do it and you can clear the clouds.  Obstacles are only as big as we see them to be. This is also an excellent week to clear the way for any really big projects that are on the table for the end of the year.  (plus holiday plans) All that soaring can give you a little bit of added perspective on what you need to do, when you need to do it, and who you need to involve.  It will also help you decide once and for all about those things you’ve been allowing to weigh you down.   Happy soaring, everyone! 🙂

About this deck:     The Osho Zen Tarot:  The Transcendental Game of Zen is a really cool, non-traditional 78 card tarot deck (even if you’re not an Osho fan)     Illustrated and authored by Ma Deva Padma (who also did another awesome deck on the I-Ching:  The Tao Oracle) and published by St. Martin’s Press.  The illustrations are fabulous, the meanings simple to understand and a sense of humour pervades in the images.
